Update, card, and idea

As I look at my blog I think of Spring but outside it is cold and we have been having snow flurries. So ready for Spring.

Bethany went to crutch therapy for the first time yesterday. Did good but will be a long time to walking. Next week we will see if she gets a shorter cast.

Tip: I made a boo boo on a project. So here is my tip:

*Cut one out and check to make sure all pieces work. This is something I usually do but did not do on a project I am working on. I have a treat box I am working on (160 of them). I thought things were good in size and did not check sizes. Had to cut out 160 more because of mistake. Sad that the paper I used the first time was not available any more. So check, check, and check again to make sure all fits good. I will post a picture of them when done.

Here is a Birthday card I made using "Birthday Bash" Mary at CardsTv made a card using this cut, so thank you for the idea. This is one of my favorite cards yet this year.

Have a creative day!

Missing again!

I must say I am sorry to those who have committed to follow me. I yet again have not been keeping things up to date. It seems each time I plan to get something posted something comes up.

So in this first update a little about what is going on. Yes, I have been creating. Always have a project going on. Right now am creating Valentine's cards and treat bags.

Other Art news: Last Spring the Principle of my children's school and I started talking about an Art program for the school. So this Fall, we started getting it started. January was the first month of our Art class. It is called the "Art Docent" program with the community college. Students' and Teachers' are loving it. They wish we could have the class more often. Art class is once a month for an hour. We have an Artist to study and do a project related to the Artists work. Last month, I taught about warm and cool colors. Getting ready for this months class now.

Family News:

As of yesterday (Thursday) my daughter has had her right leg in a cast and will be in it for about 10 more weeks. She was running at recess at school and slipped in the mud and broke her leg. The lower part of her leg.
Also, just found out my dad's cancer has come back. The last two weeks have been crazy.

We may not understand all of this but know that God is in control. At times it is hard to understand the whys of life but must remember that what we can not control is best to not to worry about. All will work out. Remember that you are not alone.

My hope is that you have a blessed day. Look for a bright spot. Sometimes it maybe small but it is there.

Blessings,

Cyndi

Remembering

Here are two Sympathy cards I had to make this summer for families that lost their boys to soon. Both of them were just starting on the road to their future.

The brown card was for my husband's cousin. I used the fence border from Cricut cart. "Straight from the nest" (p. 74) . The flowers are stickers. The stamp is from "Hero Arts"

The Yellow card and envelop was for a friend and family. This card was inspired by a shirt I had seen him wear when we first met the family. I was honored to make this card for them.

The envelop is a print of the picture I had taken of the shirt. I enlarged it and printed it out and cut the envelop out.

The card was made to fit an A2 envelop. It is a white base. Tan layer and the the yellow layer was embossed with Cuttlebug folder "Floral Screen" ( this was the closest I had to the background of the shirt) and inked with Colorbox "Dune" ink. The black floral cuts are from Cricut cart. "Life's a beach".

While it was sad to make these cards I was honored to make these special for these families.

Thanks for stopping by.

Special Creations

These are special cards I made for the Doctor who did my dad's surgery. My dad has two buckets he made that said "Kick Here" for when he kicks the bucket. The doctor told my dad if he makes it through he surgery that he wants the oldest of the 2 buckets. So dad made it through very well and the doctor got the bucket. I made this card (#1) and post card (#2) to give out when he needed to give the "Bucket Guarantee" to other patients.

It has been about 9 months since the surgery and dad is doing well. It is amazing that dad has had four types of cancer and is doing very well. God has had a mighty touch on him through this.

Time goes by!

It has been so long since I have posted. To this I am so very sorry. Life has gotten in the way and I hope that now that my kid are both in school I will be able to post more. I have been crafting during my time of being MIA and hope to post them soon. I also hope to get the rest of the ABC Characters videos up as well.

One of the things I had hoped that would not happen did and that was keeping up with posting. My hope is to do so much better this year. Hope you are having a very crafty time and thank you for visiting.

Blessings,

Cyndi

Been awhile

Tonight as I go visit some of my favorite blogs and see some that have not been updated in ages I remember my little corner of the web and think that I need to post. So here I am.

Life has been crazy and I think I have gotten caught up. We had the holidays and my dad had major surgery last month so we had Papa and Nana with us for a month. He is doing well but has a long healing process. We are giving thanks for God's hand on dad through this and for bring the right help dad needed.

We also praise God for helping us since hubby is not working right now. God always provides.

I hope to be posting some of my latest creations that I have been able to get done during this crazy time. Hope you all are well.

Blessings!!
